Figure 3: The Diameter-Inclination Effect
Comparisons of the APS major-axis diameters to values in previously published catalogs. The comparison shown in subfigure (a) to the Courteau galaxy catalog shows that our diameters are roughly isophotal when compared to Courteau's deep photometry. Note the diameter-inclination effect seen in both the UGC and RC3 when compared to the APS Catalog (subfigures (b) and (c)), indicating the diameter-inclination effect in their catalogs.
